There's something about a farmhouse that makes it an incredible place to stay. There are 145 acres, about half forested and half hay and pasture fields. Two little streams join together, not far from the house and great safe fishing for kids. There are 2.5 miles of private, groomed walking/riding trails - plenty wide enough for off-road vehicles.
Outside, there are two old barns. We have made the upstairs of the horse barn a game room so the kids can play ping-pong and air hockey on rainy days. It also doubles as a quiet space for painting and drawing. There is no TV but there is satellite radio and wireless internet when one needs to connect with the outside world... or listen to a baseball game.
Perennial flower gardens and raised beds for fresh vegetables and cut flowers surround the house. The porch chairs are key spots on sunny mornings to greet the day with a warm cup of coffee.
A half hour drive west of skiing, just above the East Branch of the Delaware River for fishing, twenty minutes from hiking in the Catskill Park, and five minutes from great dining and shopping in Andes or Delhi -- this home is central to everything you could think of doing in the western Catskills.
